Wow so nice to see folks with such great values.

To me being responsible about money is respecting labor to get money is often love made visible; but a person's having a lot of money means little or nothing to do with their over all value.

I would be tickled to death with a partner that was willing to live modestly to help aged parents or keep us secure over a guy who has a wad and uses it to bully over everyone or thinks it is just fine to live in luxury while some of his employees work three jobs 80+ hours a week for barely minimum wage. Or the guy that fights paying child support or mooches off his parents for child care so he can go out and cut a swath with the ladies. I have walked away from those types more than once.

I agree Betty it is frustrating when it seems so many "gold digger's" are just looking for a current place to couch surf. Seems like some on dating sites see the match list as a place to find a new place to flop. Not that I need a meal provided, and would not reciprocate the invitation if a dating scenario develops, but found if the first date is nothing more than a coffee date they are usually undesirable.

I do think we all have to be reasonable about how much dating does cost. I am so thankful that Mingle does not play crummy games like other date sites that make you pay to receive mail in a safe venue. And I try to be really courteous about just doing things that are not expensive.

Back to the original idea I guess some have been burned so bad by crazy spending Ex's they are scared. Just feels unfair to have to prove you are not the same kind of selfish. I would think just actually seeing how someone is over a short time should give you a pretty good idea.

I am not exactly rolling in the dough but I was pretty insulted when someone suggested I was lying when I said I wasn't in debt and didn't want to be. Seems like at almost 60 I ought to be out of debt. I am sure there are exceptions in this tough economy but from stupid no. Not to say I don't day dream for a hot muscle car but I don't go into debt for it.
