I know this is a little late in coming, but Bonniemiss, the reason I think families fight is because of the stress x-mas causes people financially
 x-mas is to commercial!! I bet if more families opted out of the shopping part and gave more hugs and kisses they'd get along much better.
Oh, and did I forget to mention, you can pick your friends but your stuck with your family no matter who or what they are!!

A nice traditon to start in families would be that the gift giving is something that comes from the heart, and is made by the giver. You can get kits to make candles, jewelery, scarves, wooden toys........and so on.........another great gift that doesn't cost much but your time is home made cookies, candies, things that please the tast buds....buy a tin, paint over it, and fill it with goodies...........and they have a keepsake to use throughout the years.
