Would you trust a stranger/anonymous first contact who is wearing sunglasses in his main photo? Personally it seems somehow subterranean to me and I don;t respond.

Good thing I don't attempt emailling alot of people then. Lol.

I am wearing sunglass' for no other reason than the sun was shining and I didn't feel like removing them when I took the picture.
It's a basic idea of my appearance. The woman I connect with here isn't going to care about a photo near as much as she will care about my mind.

I personaly have found numerous beautiful women online that weren't worth the effort of a first contact after you got a feel for how thier minds worked.

A beautiful face and body will wrinkle and sag long before a beautiful mind begins to fade or fail.

Don't be so quick to be judgemental over a simple photo. It comes across a tad petty and gives the impression you care more for the eye candy than the conversation.

Not trying to offend anyone, only posting my opinion.

I believe in the saying that the "eyes are the window of the soul" so yes It would make me very cautious.

You are reading too much into it.Generally many people think that they look more cool in sunglasses and so it is but natural that they would like to post their coolest pic in their main photo nothing else.

I hardly think you can speak for others or know what they are thinking. and I disagree. I think they are hiding behind sunglasses because they are married or do not want to be recognized....a decent person would not wear sunglasses in a respectable photograph. I have been on here a lot longer than you have and I think i am a better judge. Plus I trust my instincts and am hardly going to take your word on it

it is pretty rude to call me petty. my opinion is as valid as anyone else's....the sunglass photos are creepy...even yours. a decent man would know better than to wear them in a photo. if you are too lazy to remove them for a photo then you would be way to lazy to be a decent partner. that's MY opinion....

I kind of agree, and some sunglasses make people look like a giant wasp

No, shifty weasels that lot...I obviously loathe those pictures.

They are hiding the eyes, which are the windows to the soul, open book they are not.

*slippernote- some utilize them as a fashion accessory or as a creepy voyeur demanding more than they offer.
I am a 50/50 person, most souls are not, and contrary to belief I do share muffins in an equal manner

Sunglasses pft! may as well put a bag over their heads or have them, in a descriptive manner, explain the colour of their eyes etc; to me as my eyes, mind and brain sprockets are not fit enough to behold them

Its a bit like people using someone else's pictures or avatars imo they are not even entitled to ask such a question, the brazen cheek, let alone know my and my kinds answer

Actually avatars are far worse - they project realism that does not exist in any reality and I would ban them all....save works of their own creation kittys etc

well I use avatars but I am only here for the forums. not looking for dating or love on the internet. no thanks...lol.

It's better than the balloon ....but I do put my picture up on my profile for a few days from time to time if someone I WANT to show it to requests it....like a private photo (but usually I leave it as public for a few days). I have valid reasons why I don;t post a photo...not because I am married or anything like that. I totally get what you are saying though...but avatars can also be a fun way to express a little bit of who you are on the inside - which I try to do with mine. I still think it would be creepy to only have a picture with sunglasses on.
