What Snowden did was wrong. Fight fire with fire I say. How else do we keep an eye on terrorists. They can spy on me all they like, I have nothing to hide. "There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Ayn Rand -FN- |

Govt's create chaos or crisis to gain control. In our case, gov't has limited power thanks to our Constitution and Bill of Rights. We are a Republic, with individual rights and freedoms guaranteed, not given, under them. To work around those rights they create crisis, chaos, division, then the means to control them "for the greater good". Look around. The idea is a success, the actions all failures. They now control most every aspect of our lives because of idiot voters willing to give up their rights, and those of others, for a little false security. The question would be, how safe or economically secure do we all feel today as a result of these actions? |

And the Nobel Peace Prize Goes to Edward Snowden! President Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 for "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen diplomacy and cooperation between peoples," according to the Nobel Foundation. He had been in office less than half a year when he won and was commanding American troops in two wars. Now Obama could get some unwelcome company. Two Norwegian politicians have nominated NSA leaker Edward Snowden for that same prize. Bard Vegar Solhjell and Snorre Valen of Norway's Socialist Left Party announced Wednesday that they had nominated Snowden for the award. They praised his leaks for raising the curtain on modern surveillance techniques. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/nobel-peace-prize-goes-edward-203700752.html Wouldn't that stick in his craw! If I were Snowden, I'd refuse. To have someone think I was somehow equal to Nelson Mandela, Yasser Arafat, Jimmy Carter, Al Gore, and the supreme insult, Odumbo. Oh, and let's not forget that most infamous traitor, Woodrow Wilson. |

Ayn Rand -FN- "Society will develop a new kind of servitude which covers the surface of society with a network of complicated rules, through which the most original minds and the most energetic characters cannot penetrate. It does not tyrannise but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each nation is reduced to nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd." - Alexis de Tocqueville Much more explicitly put and by a French aristocrat. |
