Shelter From The Storm

Drifting further from this pain
That has haunted every peaceful night
Since the day he left
The blinding fog of grief and anger
Has finally lifted
Revealing a beautiful future
With a man whose friendship
And gentle nature saved me
From complete insanity
When the walls begain to crumble
He stood strong
Patiently picking up the peices
As they fell time and time again
When waves of grief crashed
Swallowing me once more
His kind words
And visions of the future
Pulled my head above water
Now as the fog lifts
I realize
He is my strongest shelter
From even the most ravaging storm
Feeling myself slip into a deep sleep
His face comes into view
With a gentle smile
He takes me in His arms
At last every ounce of pain
Is completely obsolite
Each and every day
Has now become a battle
Soon he will be home
But until then I must be strong
If not for myself
For him
He revived this heart
Giving me a reason to try
To dream
And to love just once more
