I said he wasn't in one of my other posts, Random. I was talking about his sheer delight in using "scare tactics" to get people to see things his way. You know, like these TV preachers.

the question was will this be dragged out til Bush is gone....hate to break the news to everyone but they are busy building a dozen or so bases there...and an embassy the size of the vatican...are all these bases to encourage tourism in the area?...doan thing so....read the responses of all the "top tier" candidates running for president...dem or repub.....do any of them say we will get out of there?...the plan is for permanent bases and a presence in the area for untold years into the future...

RandomX says:
""To me the People completely against this war have no Idea about radical Islam.Untill All our women are wearing Buqas that is. ""

It does no good arguing with some of these people about the war and islam, they just don't get it, they never will, they can sure ***** about it though and cry baby around about it.

this war will last well past 2009. some troops may start to come home within a year of the election but our involvement in iraq will be on a large scale til the end of time.

many democrats are promising a withdrawal of troops as soon as six months if they are elected but a large scale withdrawal will never happen no matter who is elected.

For all of you who claim to "Support the Troops"- why not then listen to what the troops want?

"U.S. troops say they want out of Iraq within a year:

A new poll to be released today shows that U.S. soldiers overwhelmingly want out of Iraq — and soon. The poll is the first of U.S. troops currently serving in Iraq, according to John Zogby, the pollster. Conducted by Zogby International and LeMoyne College, it asked 944 service members, “How long should U.S. troops stay in Iraq?” Only 23 percent backed Mr. Bush’s position that they should stay as long as necessary. In contrast, 72 percent said that U.S. troops should be pulled out within one year. Of those, 29 percent said they should withdraw “immediately.” [NYT, 2/28/06]"

The troops want to come home but I doubt very much that many of them will be allowed to do so... and some that are allowed to come home will end up going back again. so yes I believe we will still have a significant prescence in the area in 2009... and likely beyond... although appeasement releases will occur as a matter of course and the exact numbers will depend partly on the next election.

Why not sending a motion to GWB:

All those sitting warm, dry, safe and comfortable at home supporting this war are to be send to Iraq, since they seem to like the idea of being there, and let those who a sick and tired of fighting for the money in other peoples pockets get home.

How's that?

Any takers?

well as big a mess as we have made we really cnat pull, the president has put too much of his dumbass legacy into it, im sure whoever the next president is will get them out EVENTUALLY but it will be extremely difficult with the mess they'll be given, bin laden said something very interesting in one of his little states of the jihad he said "yours is a culture of life and ours is aculture of death" hes right and no amount of troops in the mideast will ever stop the extremists from killing eachother, American politicians need to realize this before they withdraw troops Iraqis have been lopping eachothers heads off since the persian empire and all our troops do ias give them fuel for thier "holy cause"

Invisibleflowerforyou ,YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know, people go on and on about this war. We NEED to be there, they say. "BAH GAWD, I'd rather fight them over there than over here, BAH GAWD!" is the usual mantra of cowards who aren't fighting them ANYWHERE! Ole "President" S*** Stain goes around all cocky, loudly proclaiming to anyone unlucky enough to have to listen that"I'm the War President!". No, Stain, you're a dumbass, but that's another post.

Look at this war another way:
We're not at war with another country.
We're actually not at war with a group of people.
We ARE at war with an ideology.
A "Holy War", if you will. A holy war that has been going on for centuries. And we've been thrown right into the center of it.
Now, I'm in no way to be considered a religious person. I think organized religion is a tool for the weak-willed to be led around and controlled with. But that's yet another post. The simple fact is, we CANNOT win this "war" unless we change everyone's beliefs in the ideology they follow. You can't kill, kill, and kill some more till none are left. They'll ALWAYS be some left.
We hear on a daily basis that Al-Queida is here in America. They're everywhere, bellow the war-mongers. They're in our buildings. They're in our trailer parks. Hell, they're even in our grandma's basement. Wait, grandma doesn't have a basement? Well, if she did, they'd be there. They're ready to attack us at a moment's notice, claims D*** Cheney. LOOK, THERE THEY ARE!!!!

According to reports, Al-Quedia's stronger now than at any time since pre-9/11.
Well, so much for fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them over here.
That theory's shot all to hell now.
BAH GAWD!

I believe that islam is a less evolved religion, it has not been around as long as judaism, christianity (allforms of it), hinduism, budhism all of which (except the last one) have been responsible for atrocities far worse than anything that islmic radicalists have done
The inquisition?
The holocost? (spelled wrong i think_
Caste Systems?
The Destruction of Rome?
I believe that we with our more evolved religion cannot change anything in the middle east and that Islam wiil evolve to be at peace with other religions in time. Until them we cannot stop the violence in the mideast without stepping in the way in the evolution of a younger ideology which is a bad thing for us to do
