Newly declassified documents pull back curtain on Benghazi

Recently declassified transcripts and testimony show military commanders knew of an attack on the Benghazi compound within 15 minutes through a call received from the AFRICOM Command Center. Shortly thereafter, a call was placed to General Dempsey, who then informed Secretary Panetta of the attack. In a discussion with the Senate Armed Services Committee in February of last year Panetta also admitted that it was he who informed the president that "there was an apparent attack going on in Benghazi."
