Sensory stimuli make us naturally react:

Happiness, laugh,
Jealousy, mad,
Heartbreak, sad,
Offensive, attack,
Victory, glad.

This is just a matter of fact.

We know who our friends are:

We know who we can tell almost anything.
We know who we can call when we're in a pinch.
We know who we can rely on without a hitch.

We know our opponents goals and strategy:

Manipulating, back stabbing, secrecy,
Trojan horse invasions masked as intimacy,
Empty adoration, promises designed to deceive.

Cold, hard, and cleverly calculating:

The rat race makes us behave this way.
If we're mindful we enjoy occasional fleeting escapes.
We protect our juggler from the cut throat games we play.

Personal emotions are noncommittal, secondary:

Apt to be fickle, they can get irreparably messy.
If constricting freedom they become totally unnecessary.
They have very little value if our interests are fiduciary.

The good die young, and the strong survive:

There's zero tolerance, no need to compromise.
We've perfected pretense, and love to despise.
Truth is obsolete, our foundations built on lies.

It's the first day of 2014, and I'm keeping it real.

I'm looking forward to what this new year reveals.
Eager to see if business culminates in equitable deals,
Or more off course driving, and spinning of wheels.

Sensory stimuli make us naturally react.

This is just a matter of fact.
