Hello to all here. While I realize this is not a religious based site there are many here who do indicate a religious affiliation on their profile.
Why is it that I am made to feel small, ridiculed and treated with angry retorts when I simply state that I choose (by my understanding of the Bible) to not date outside my faith?
I am amazed that some of the biggest name callers are "christians" who do not see Biblical teaching in the same way I do.
I have had my beliefs attacked and told that if I would just allow a man to "f**k" me I would "get over myself and there ridiculous restrictions". As of yet no man here has had the decency and love of G-d to say " I don't understand it but I wish you well in your search".
What is the problem on this site?

after all this huge mess of religions all over the world (~4200 religions) i can assure that the brain fight against religion is reaching a decisive victory as the number of non-religious people is growing rapidly day after day .... humans were born as humans , and the human-invented religions will become outdated as any other invention ... so we have the right to love each others as humans regardless to any other ethnic or religious differences ..
and yes , there is a problem in this site when it asks about something about to extinct in the modern civilized world : " religious believe"

some people are just over the top! Im sorry this has been your" experience. I am not a "fan" of over the top religion but what one believes is his own choice.

This was one thing agreed with when Dr. Laura was on the air. She said that she believed people should married those who are the same religion as they are or if one is willing to convert then one should. As I recall she said the reason was basically to avoid confusion for the kids.

Why does mommy go to this church on this day and daddy goes to this one on this other day?

Pretty much for stability it is better to marry someone with the same beliefs as you. So I commend you for having the standard you have and I wish you luck in finding what you are after.

Some people are just retarded though and closed minded. They are stuck with their thought processes and they can't or won't let go of them. Just ignore them and continue doing what you are doing.

You know what? If they don't want to accept you for it, screw em. You are who you want to be. It was never any of their business to know. Some people are just childish. They THINK they're grown up, but never act like they really are. Why let anyone stop you? Maybe their jealous that you express yourself so freely, while they feel too repressed. To hell with people like that. I don't have time for fools.

You already know religious intolerance exists in the world, so why be surprised when you find it at any social microcosm?

You'll find all the bad and all the good in people in open social networking forums, like the world the trick is to focus on the good and make yourself invulnerable to the bad. Should be common sense among well adjusted adults.

When religious adults come into secular situations and expect that they are not going to be taunted, even harassed by a certain percentage of non-believers (that may have been carrying an anti-Christian bias since they were small children), they are kidding themselves.

Especially when they take the moral high ground and get on the pulpit using religious justifications as they interpret the word as to what Christian means. Just because you don't define someone as a Christian does not mean they don't. Or that they will not be offended if you reject them because you are another denomination. There are some serious divisions by denomination alone.

When you challenge or insult peoples beliefs it should be expected that they are going to defend themself. And not always with a lot of grace. This is not Sunday school at your home church. This is the world wild web and if you don't want to deal with "combative anti-religion personalities" then you are going to have to learn to just ignore some responses. Blocking works well.

And not blaming the greater community for your own actions and the reactions of a few. With only two posts I would have to think you have gotten the same "trial by fire" that most Newbies get when they come in and paint a target on their back by not watching the lay of the land and making friends first and making proclamations.

Sorry that you were treated in what I would consider a vulgar way. It is possible if you hang around you will make friends that treat you the way you would find acceptable. But this is and adults only site with wildly varying values and behaviors and most are not going to welcome instruction or anything that even leans that way from another.
