DALLAS -

Dallas police were called to the Southwest Center Mall early Friday for reports of a fight in the line for the latest Air Jordans.

Officials said people started lining up overnight outside the mall in southern Dallas. A shoe store there planned to hand out tickets for the Gamma Blue Jordan 11 shoes, which are scheduled to be released on Saturday.

At about 6 a.m. a group of people arrived and tried to cut to the front of the line. Tempers flared and police had to intervene, officials said.

There were no initial reports of arrests or injuries.

Police remained at the scene for crowd control as the store opened.

The Jordan 11 is reportedly one of the most popular Air Jordan models and the Gamma Blue color is a favorite among Nike fans. The shoes retail for about $185 and are being released just in time for Christmas.

The Jordan 11 Retro Gamma Blue sneakers released on Saturday, and the nation just about fell apart. One week ago, a crowd tore down a mall door just to get an advance ticket to buy the $185 Jordans. With the shoes now officially on sale, the world appears to be ending.

In Dallas, police reported to a fight in line Friday night. At 6 a.m. Saturday, customers tried to cut in line, causing a commotion that required police intervention, according to MyFoxDFW.
