Are we aptly prepared
for what this season can bring?
Or do we dare not ask..
Don't expect much of anything?
Perhaps love's charming influence
freely gifts us our need?
And Yuletide prospects
fulfill our wishes in deed?
Bewitched we are entirely
beneath this Christmas Moon,
whose magic casts spells
enrapturing all those in tune.
Engulfed are we so completely
in beams of its dazzling light,
flames of desire may surprise us
on this cold winter's night!
