Love Is “US”

Love is but,
a many splendid desire.
Walking through the sands of time,
and amongst the coals of fire.

These words of love and commitment,
scare you more than you say.
Because of getting to know you,
I know these things today.

For independence,
though safe, secure and fun.
Is just another word for “lonely”,
spending it with no special “one”.

I want you whole heartedly,
with nothing to be held back.
It seems we are getting there,
I think on the right track.

I will give you all the same,
and offer you my love and heart.
After hearing your sweet voice,
that choice is an easy part.

As we learn about each other,
and our love continues to blossom and grow.
You mean the world to me,
I just wanted you to know.

For when you’re with,
the one you hold true.
Nothing can hold you back,
there’s nothing you can’t go through.

Together we will be strong,
entwined in a loving embrace.
Oblivious to the world around,
in our own special place.

Believing in each other,
we’ll explore and experience life.
Living and loving each day,
me as your husband, you as my wife.

For love and understanding,
is what we shall share.
You are the one in my dreams,
and no one can compare.

Just so you know,
I’ve always been true.
With you I’ve loved my life,
I hope you have too.

For when our lives are through,
and we are but a thought.
We will have lived in love and happiness,
For “US" is all we sought.
