Maybe Network Blames President For Last-Place Ratings

That's what happened Saturday night on lefty MSDNC, when former CNN reporter Bob Franken had some rather shocking things to say about the Obama White House. The exchange comes a week after reports that the White House has shut journalists out of an ever-expanding list of official events.

"Let's use the 'P' word here -- this is propaganda when it comes from the White House, government covering the government," Franken said. "It's not what you're supposed to do in the United States of America. But we have an administration -- every president gets to the point where he dislikes the press. It's that simple. And every administration tries to manipulate the press. But this is the most hostile to the media that has been in United States history. Not only do we have this thing where they're --

"Wait," said MSNBC host T.J. Holmes, "you would go that far?"

"I would go that far," Franken said.

"The most hostile in history?"

"The most hostile," said Franken, "because first of all, we have the situation where they are in fact shutting out the press. And by the way, when they say you can't have every photographer in, they know full-well there's something called the 'pool,' which is to say you have one representative from each media that represents all of them and shares the pictures and the sound and all of that kind of thing. So that's totally disingenuous, which is a polite word.

"But the reason I say most hostile is because of the Justice Department moves that they've made against the press. Obviously they have a contempt for the journalistic process. Those of us who are in journalism, of course, believe that it is vital if you're going to have an informed electorate as opposed to one that's been propagandized."

This is like the pot calling the kettle black.

Each media corp has their "side" or slant, hype the article with spin one way or the other, wrap it in a pretty bow and sell it to their viewers as news....

And that's not propaganda?

Since when did DC bureaucrats become movie stars anyway? They all love the camera until it exposes them, at that point it becomes a matter of national security..... and a secret......

They sell the likes of Graham, McShame, Piglosi, Frankenstien, Ried, Obozo, and the boner as caring representatives of the people when most of them think of us as nothing more than a problem that needs to be dealt with.... not served.

The media glorifies them, then complains when they don't get the lie to wrap in a pretty bow and shovel it to the eaters for consumption.
