Topic: Advice please about my profile picture | |
---|---|
I uploaded three new profile pictures yesterday and was trying to swap one of them with my main profile picture. Think that I made a mistake because my new profile picture seems to be a full length shot, rather than one of the face shots that I was going to use.
To be honest' I'm not even sure if it's visible because there's something under it now that says "private". I would apreciate it if you guys could check it out and tell me how it looks and which picture you think would be the best one to use for my main profile picture. |

Your current profile pic is A-okay for me. It's the one of your half body shot and is clear enough for a profile pic.

Thanks. My sister takes them and she says that she likes to mess about with the tones.
I don't get to see her very often because she's busy with her new baby and stuff but I want her to take some pictures of me with my guitar and I think that would look cool because it's a top of the range Les Paul. Was mainly concerned about how some people before said that my old pictures weren't very clear though and I apreciate your feedback and saying that my new main picture is better. |

Hi Tawt
I think they show a side of you that needed to be seen so that people could match you with your words better. When you have made statements in your posts I would wonder why folks were not buying into them. Many of them (the posts) I didn't find so strange, but people seemed to doubt you. I think these pictures show that your a lot more hip than what people were thinking and that even though your style is different from some you've got your own groove and vibe. Looking forward to seeing the Les Paul, many of my friends play them. |

Thanks, I think that you are right and it's easy for people sitting behind computers to say what they are all about but without actually meeting someone the pictures help to get across what sort of person you are better than just words might do. I've got quite a nice collection of guitars actually but the Les Paul is probably my favorite and I always wanted one. Some of my guitars were hand made and I lent one of them to my last girlfriend but don't suppose that I'll ever see it again now. Oh well, I just hope that she enjoys it and doesn't sell it for a fraction of what it cost. It's been a funny old year and I only just decided to put myself back on the dating scene again at the end of last year. It hasn't exactly worked out as far as finding someone for a longterm relationship goes but I'm glad that I came on Mingle and am feeling better about myself than I was at this time last year and even feel alright about just having turned forty five, which according to one of the ladies on here now officially makes me middle aged. Well, that may be so but it doesn't mean that I'm ready for the pipe and slippers yet. I was a bit reluctant to post pictures of myself in leather jeans because I guess that some women might think that it makes me look immature but if that's how they feel about it, I probably wouldn't be the sort of guy that they're looking for anyway and that's how I'm looking at it now. |

I don't think you should be wearing leather trousers. They look good on Jim Morrison but not on you. That's not a dig at you, I just think that sort of thing should be left to the professionals.

I disagree, I think Tawt not only sports them nicely, but also I see his personality shining through. Look at his words, then look at his pics, they fit. On the forums Tawt is taking the time to tell us what he is about and that's what mingling is. We all have our own flavor and that's how this pie rolls. |

I don't think you should be wearing leather trousers. They look good on Jim Morrison but not on you. That's not a dig at you, I just think that sort of thing should be left to the professionals. Well, I used to be a biker and maybe I'm not a professional musician but women that I know tell me that I look sexy in them. I hadn't really been wearing them for the last few years but I think that I mentioned that I was seeing a girl in her early twenties this Summer and so I thought that if I'm doing this midlife crisis thing I may as well put on my old leathers again. Speaking of Jim Morrison, I was just watching the Oliver Stone movie about him again tonight. When I was younger he was my hero and I still love that music . I drank as hard as he did and did a lot of really crazy things but I survived and am still here to tell the tale. I think that was what that young girl liked about me. I've got this other lady friend that I used to party with and she says that I'm more mature than I was then but we still talk for hours and listen to that old music and have a laugh. She's happy that I'm dating again and not moping around and whining about my lost youth and being stuck in a rut. A few years ago I met this guy that was blind and he could smell my leather jacket. The guy had been blind all his life but his dad was a biker and he told him something about how if you are a biker you are a biker for life, even if you don't ride anymore, or only ever rode pillion. But thanks for giving me your opinion anyway. That's one guy saying that I shouldn't be wearing leather and according to what you post in this forum, you aren't having much luck with the women. I'm putting pictures of myself on here anyway and so far you are the only one that has said anything negative about them. But hey man, it's a bit ironic I think if you're saying that Jim Morrison looked good in them because he was a professional because professional was one thing that he was not and it wasn't all about the money or fame. Maybe my style is retro but I think it's still cool and I was never one for following fashion. Had people back in the eighties calling me a hippy and telling me to dress differently and get a haircut but it still didn't stop me from pulling rock chicks. |

It is great of your sis to take the nice casual shots. Adds a lot to your profile.
Think the one of you setting on the couch is probably the most flattering. I am not much for leather pants but I got to say you can tell you feel sexy and you are working it so don't let anyone tell ya different. And oh by the way "45" just barely gets you by Baby Beef for some of us so let her rip dude!!! Have Fun. |
