How much has Jamarcus Russells value dropped since the rosters are now down to 52? Will the Raiders still sign him and where will he fit in the roster, who will get cut? If he fails to sign with the Raiders this year, and re-enters the draft next year, based on the penalties the other team who drafts him will have to pay, what is the highest probable round he will be drafted in?

the raiders won't allow him to reenter the draft.

ya think? they will get the next two #1 picks from whomever takes him. What happens if they do not allow him to re-enter the draft? Is he just stuck there with no contract or does he ave other options?

they would have to have him under contract to keep him out of the draft next year. they will sign him but it may not be till the middle of the season. i don't see anyone giving up two first round picks for him.

I have read that the hangup is he wants a guarantee of being the starting qback. If so, cannot see anyone giving that to a person unless maybe manning or brady. By midseason, do you suppose that his contract value would be about half or a little more of what it was when they drafted him?

i haven't heard about the starting QB clause but they don't have anyone else. his value to the raiders is just going to go up if they have a bad start to the season but if they start out good he'll have to think about reducing his asking price.

This kid is listening to the wrong people.
1st rounders are judged only by their potential to be a good NFL player from their college days.
if Al davis is offerring him a fair contract then he should take it.

What I had heard, is that dispute between Russell and the Raiders is over the guaranteed money. Russell wants to be able to keep ALL the money, whether he is good, awful, decides to quit after a year, or whatever may happen.

I'd like to see the comish. step in.

The draft player/payroll should be slotted anyway. There should never be a dispute. I think if you are lucky enough to get in the league, just come in play a year or two and then get that BIG extension.
