Different cultures look at things different ways. For someone to stay in a abusive or loveless relationship is wrong for any culture, sometimes things go wrong and people change. I admire women who take the extra stress and financial risks to protect her family. Side note to Greek Adonis, I think dating unsure would be well worth the risk. Well...its very common with the ladies. For example here at mingle ladies that I have read their profile what I am seeing is divorced,not married but with kids and I keep asking myself do spouse in Europe,UK do they love marrying and divorcing and even having babies outside wedlock ? you will see the men have these profiles also. it takes two to make a child...for every woman who is pregnant out of wedlock there is a man who is a father out of wedlock. for every divorced woman there is a divorced man. |

OP is quite misleading!! Many countries in Africa do go through the same! A very high percentage of couples get babies out of wedlock and marry later on-or not! And extremely a high rate of single parents too...NOT just Americans! Its all everywhere... Yea I know its everywhere even in Africa but that of America and Uk is very alarming. One will marry today next month you will hear she's filling for divorce. Latest now I'm hearing is that of Jay Z and Beyonce though I don't know if its rumour those are celbreties and alot of what you will read is the media sometimes not telling the truth or making up some things. there is not a divorce frenzy here....a lot of couples do stay together where divorce and single parenting occur here I imagine it is for the same reason it occurs in Africa |

Just in case it has escaped everyone's notice, the OP did start Part Two of this subject, where he apologized for not having really understood the reasons behind the divorce, or single/w kids problem in the U.S. I believe he stated he was not fully aware of the full details and that he genuinely didn't mean to sound what we call "chauvinistic" in his approach to this subject. We may or may not believe him but maybe we need to go to Part 2 and see what happens. JMHO

Aaaaawwww!! I'll still speak for my country; Women stick it out because of the children,dependency,etc... But,that's why we also have a maddening level of domestic violence-man hacks wife to pieces,man strangles wife to death,man poisons family kills himself,and the like! I mean,we see/hear/read this every single day! Women in Africa have no rights and most have no back bone to stand on their own/leave.... But,there are also some who walk away,though not many! |

All i can say even if u love someone with all ur hart u can never force them to stay with u . And just.becouse u have a child with some does not mean they will marry u and stay with u . And just even if u r a singel parent does not mean u need someone to take care of ur kid . I have 2kids and i dont ask anyone even for a bar of soap . I can take care of my own kids. Independed mom
