I have been having trouble with your instant messaging option. It is very slow and more often than not it doesnt work. I try messaging people that I know are on line and it always comes up with the message that they are offline. Very frustrating. Can you fix this?

Some members using the mobile site will appear online but the the IM chat feature does not work with mobile.

We are still fine-tuning the IM, tisnotme and we appreciate everyone's patience while we do so. We're also getting new hardware strictly for chat later this week, ideally. While Journeyman236 is largely right, it is possible to use the IM from certain mobile devices. It's not yet optimized for mobile devices, however, so the experience will be suboptimal.
