Wow...what a day. That reminds me of the time when I walked in the house, and I hit my toes on the metal threshold of the door, and I broke 3 toes. o.o

update:
I took my son to his dr. appt. check up tuesday..come to find out he broke his elbow in more then one place. His cast is off but he's doing occupational therapy and they want to size him for a special splint that puts pressure on his elbow to get him to be able to straighten it out.

Wow sounds like my son!! He fractured his wrist at school at noon BUT the nurse told him to go back to class and he would be fine. They found out real quick how much of a bytch I could be when he came out holding his arm against him and not being able to move it. Plus the PE teacher made him take PE that day...talk about being mad.
They put him in a sling until we got the x-rays back and then they put him in a cast. The PE teacher still went against the drs orders and tried to make him take PE. Then I went in there and then he threatened to flunk him...yep our school is not very bright!!
Good luck with the cast...they are NO fun at all!!!flowerforyou

I have an 11 year old son who when he was 3, he and his mother were hit by an 18 wheeler. He sat in the car seat and watch his mothers life slip away, He suffered 7 major head concusions and was in ICU for 6 weeks before moving him to a private room. His life was hanging by a thread and I had to plan a funeral for my wife. He is doing fine now and did overcome the speech problem he was left with from the wreck. He is about 5' tall and about 147lbs. He still has nightmares about it but not as often. I'm very proud of my son and his attitude. His teachers tell me they have not had a student as polite as him in years, alway yes mam and no mam may I and thank you. Are there any others out there that have come close to losing a child? Or have lost a spouse in a sudden way?

no loss of spouse, but i feel you on special kids.

when caitlyn was nine, my best friend came over to use my computer...i left him with the kiddos while i ran out for sandwiches. when i came back, maybe twenty minutes later...

caitlyn walked up and calmly held out her arm, asking if i would please take her to the hospital, as it was broken. charlie agreed to keep the little ones, so off we went!

the hospital said it was probably a sprain, because she was so calm, but that they would x-ray to be certain. after hours in the waiting room, with her sleeping on my shoulder...they came back and ran the tests, and then came shame-faced into her room. seems both bones were broken clear through...and in bad position.

immediate morphine drip...call in orthopedic surgeon...apologize profusely for not giving her anything earlier...yeah, good times.
