Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, rose to speak on the Senate floor at 2:41 p.m. He stood up in opposition to Obamacare, he said. And he said he would continue to speak until he could no longer stand.

It's not a filibuster. But it's looking like it may be a very, very long speech from the Texas senator who has been the center of attention in D.C.'s budget fight, and the Senate leader in a doomed-to-fail movement to strip funding for Obamacare out of any resolution that Congress passes to fund the government. If Congress fails to come to an agreement, the government will shutdown at the end of September.

Ted Cruz stood up to "make D.C. listen," he said repeatedly. "Washington depends on the American people not paying attention."

I, for one, am very proud to have voted for Ted Cruz. Thank you Ted Cruz for standing up to Harry Reid, John Boehner,Pelosi, Mcain and Obama for the American people.

At least he will force the Dems to go on record for their stance on Obamascare. Hopefully it will at least raise awareness on how bad this law is, not for just our healthcare but how it's destroying jobs and the economy.

Dateline Washington DC, United States Senate -

In a surprising and brash move today, Republican Senator Ted Cruz threatened the Obama Administration from the Senate floor with what appeared to be a pocket copy of an old and outdated document known as "the constitution".

While most of those present in the senate chamber laughed at first at what appeared to be a joke, apparently Senator Cruz was actually serious with his preposterous shenanigan, as he continued to lash out at both the president himself and the majority party, the Democrats, for allegedly "not following the law of the land".

Asked later what this could possibly mean to the president, presidential spokesmouth Jay "Carney" Carney shuddered and then whispered what sounded like "It buuuuurnnnnssssssss...".

I think this whole thing is a sham.

The GOP is prepping him for a 2016 presidential run so they prop him up to make him look real good then the GOP will vote to fund obamacare anyway and people will remember how Ted Cruz stood up for em.
