I'd rather spend a week in a roomful of snakes than 10 minutes in a room with ONE spider.

(Please - don't anybody trot out that "you're always within 4 feet of a spider" crap. It just makes me queasier).

the runny thing was he reared back like he was going to bite me, and when i got back in, yea he was still alive at the time, a spider started walking all over him and he NEVER moved. but let me get within 5 foot of him he was looking dead at me flicking that tounge,,,,,noway grumble

Yeah, don't mention spiders to my daughter either....she freaks out everytime she goes in a room and sees one. One night she almost jumped out of a moving car because she saw a spider on the dashboard.

GAW! I'm horribly arachniphobic... first off, snakes don't bother me... but spiders are another tning, Eileena, your daughter sounds alot like me. Bookworm...everytime i hear something like 'people eat 8 spiders a year without knowing it." I literally gag. If i have to go in a room but i KNOW there's a spider in there, i won't go in there... Couldn't force me with a Hot cow iron.

Now Thumper, It is quit possible that the snake you stomped on (*sheds a tear*) was only seaking your body warmth and when you squeeled like a girl, felt thretened and reared up. if you had flicked your ciggarett over his head, it would have distracted him enough for you to get away. They sens suddon temp chnages, and the cherry of your Cigg would have exploded on the ground, which would have made him turn. and there's your chnace to get away.

:)

i dont kill many snakes, but ones that in any way threaten me, i will kill, specially the ones that can kill me. its kinda a defensive thing. black snakes, king snakes, anything like that i dont mess with, i know they are very helpful, but cottonmouths, coral, rattlers and copperheads are marked in my book. thats just me.

The only snake around here is the deadly one eyed trouser snake with the roll neck sweater, but I guess that's something entirely different. bigsmile

Problem is, the damn things don't like having to wear raincoats when they have to go into damp places, and everytime they do any exercise they always seem to throw up for some reason.bigsmile

seems to be they would enjoy it, but ya know. all you have to do is smack em around a little and they get in line, no pun intended.bigsmile
