Above the clouds I rise
Behold the maiden of my dreams so nice Gliding on cloud nine I ask, "Lady will you be mine?" In a voice sweet and sonorous She said, "I like you though; but love another." Don't be humorous Who is that other? My heart she rends apart Torn by cupids arrow But still I do not depart. Why do you give me sorrow? In her dazzling eyes shine love that comes not easy. On bended knee I make my plea Lady, don't leave me lonely. With arms outstretch'd She held me up Kissed my brow and made me retch Then wore me out, as she spoke up: "Wait eight moons, then we shall see." Oh Mother Mary Guide me not to hurry As I dream about the day When above the clouds the sun shall rise And the maiden of my dreams so wise Meets me at the altar with a kiss for all to see The triumph of divine love today.
