I started my profile a few weeks ago and I fear I might be doing something wrong. any advice would be helpful.

Well, this is not Field of Dreams. Just because you built a profile, it does not mean they will come. Some folks seem to find that they do better by reading profiles and writing to lots of people. Other folks seem to do better by joining the forums and getting to know someone on that level. Good luck on what ever you choose to do.
