Have any of you imported a bf or gf from out of state or out of the country and had it work out? I went to Texas to live with a bf I had only met online and it was a disaster. I have a friend importing someone from another country and I am afraid for him as I had an ex boyfriend who did that and years later was still trying to clean up the mess.

Well, a friend of mine 'imported' a girl from Vietnam after he'd met her there on holiday, in fact I was with him at the time. It wasn't easy by any means the bureaucracy alone should have beeen enough to end it. Most of us were very skeptical about her motives and didn't think it would last long. Almost twenty years down the line we've all eaten our humble pie and it's great to see them both so happy; their children too! So, yes it sometimes works.
