The title of this thread comes from a person's reply to the following story posted by Deadline Hollywood:

W. Kamau Bell came to Summer TV Press Tour to talk about his late-night talk show’s move from FX to FXX in September, and got asked what was missing from the on-TV debate during the George Zimmerman trial. “What was missing…is white people doing this,” he said — then he began to nod his head and keep his mouth shut. “That’s your Listening to Racism face,” Bell said, addressing the mostly white Television Critics Association, and presumably also white on-air news/comedy talent.

“You need to listen to the story before you come to conclusions. The worst thing to say to a person of color is, ‘I don’t think that’s racist.’ I don’t think that’s your area. You can have an opinion but I don’t think you are the final word. That’s what’s missing, white people. You’ve got a lot of jobs” but should not have the ‘I know what’s racist’ job. I know what’s imperialism – that’s your job.”

The three attackers were charged with aggravated battery. One was also charged with robbery for stealing the victim's money after the beating. They apparently had tried to sell him drugs earlier in the day and he may have reported them, according to one report.

The attackers are black and the victim is white.

Was it racist or retaliation?

The distortion is in the perception, the perception is in the eyes and thinking of the beholder.

To consider an action racist simply on the face of it, without facts, is the fault of the beholder, which could clearly be a form of racism.

(The following is a comment from another forum)

Anyone who saw Piers Morgan's coverage of the Trayvon/Zimmerman, incident/trial would no doubt be struck by the irony of his comments here on the Florida bus assault.

To Piers, the 6' tall 17-year old Trayvon was "a poor defenseless innocent child with Skittles stalked and murdered." That was Piers' mantra for over a year, right thru and after the trial.

Meanwhile, Piers describes these kids as "three pretty strapping 15-year old teenagers with a propensity for violence[...]horrible little thugs[...]three little barbarians[...]these thugs trying to kill this kid."

Of course, I wasn't in Sanford, Fl, and the only one who knows exactly what went down is Zimmerman, but given the testimony of the closest eyewitness, as well as the content of the 911 recordings, it's not difficult at all to imagine Trayvon raining down blows like the kids in this video.

I find Piers' comments here in light of his previous Trayvon comments nothing less than jaw-dropping.

So, given the perception of all those with opinions above....do any seem racist?
