I don;t think you can "make" a relationship work as in forcing it, but that is probably not what you mean anyway. What do you mean by making a relationship work?

Relationship finds it's meaning on its own..
Its the sailing ship that relates a man n a woman in their perspectives.

I agree you can not make a relationship work. It only takes one person to mess the relationship up.

Sounds good in theory but doesn't much work in the real world.

Both have to be respectful & supportive of each other..You choose to be with that person for a reason!! Communication & trust is the key..
When you hear someone say "we need to communicate more", its not all about words. Kissing, holding hands, etc.. And if you feel your partner is down, lift them up however you can..

Firstly, people come together for various reasons. I don't really think you can consider yourself in a relationship until you come to a mutual agreement and/or understanding. Furthermore, we live in a fast pace society where we are consumed by many other forces. Family, friends, our own personal downtime and the upkeep of our comfort zone, the cleaning and maintenance of, etc. Then you have to keep in mind, some of us find ourselves involved, yet still, we live in two separate homes. Just exactly how much of a relationship are you in when you share two homes? How much downtime is there available to exercise this relationship you so call it? I think once we become intimate with that person we automatically assume we are in a relationship. Yeah, it's better to practice monagamy for health reasons, but, just becoz you jump in and out of the sheets together, that doesn't necessarily mean you're in a relationship. I think a relationship is primarily based upon mutual understanding. You have to be able to observe upcoming crash zones. You must be able to fluxuate with differences. There are so much involved in making a relationship work. My point is: if you feel uneasy about something in particular with an individual, you should have the opportunity to sort things out by speaking your feelings. If the other person is receptive and versatile, willing to compromise and maintain longevity, then your relationship can only go forward.glasses
