Any tattoo can have any sort of meaning to a person, it's all about experiences, and how you relate to something, you can't really ever fully explain what something means to you cause the other person wasn't there.

Well the dragon could be a symbol of strength, power, or determination, and the second one is an american slogan, i think used in the time of war, so usually a veteran or solider would get this |

What r different types of tatoos used for and what do they indicate? Tatoo sign..significance? Some use them to make a statement, record a memory, celebrate an event or even in some cases push a few buttons. In most cases though I imagine it is just a matter of liking the image itself. I personally don't go for any sort of statement, I just have it done if I like the art itself. |

I never really considered the meaning of any of my ink, except for the personal meaning to me. Most were just for fun and because I thought they were pretty. I do have one large piece that is a tribute. I don't believe in the idea that you have to deeply research and stress out over every tattoo you place on your body. We're only in these bodies temporarily. I'd rather have fun with mine and use it as a form of expression of myself.

Tattoo's where, and still are to a large degree, rooted in classic age old beliefs in the spirit world and their effects on ours.
Tattoo's where used as Talismans of protection against many elements and Maladies from the Other worlds, which could intrude into our own. They where also used by many cultures as a sign of Rites of Passage into adulthood. Tattoo's are universal and are known in every culture on the face of the earth, they still convey great significance in terms of Talismanic properties and personal power. Tattoo's have a primal attraction to us, hence their continuing use in all of our cultures. Even though their original meanings, and uses have been lost to many of us through the course of time. |
