Keeping the faith,

In this particular thread Bidright has posted inspirations and policies/beliefs of the LDS faith, however even in so doing he has masked/obscured what these prophets were teaching.

Some of the claims that bidright has made in several posts is that the mormon faith believes they will become Gods if they follow the teachings. If you read the posts in this thread you will find that the LDS faith makes an attempt by the teachings to be more Like God, and Not Be a God. This is a fine line of his wordings in this and other posts.

BTW I was also raised in the LDS faith, however becauase of my own beliefs that is not the case anymore. I simply like to clarify in some of this rampant posting what the LDS faith IS teaching, not what some Believe they are teaching.

Hi MicheleNC,

Thanks for your comments. I think what makes Bonny and I work is that we have committed to deep communication. We look at each others values instead of each others faults. I have a certain way of dealing with my faults, and she has her own way of dealing with hers. We don't go on a fault hunting campaign.

When we as people look at others through the eyes of seeking the positive, it makes us so much more open than when we have our critical, glasses on. There's such a big difference between reasoning together, and arguing. One would think that in a new relationship two people can't talk too deep about religion, but in our case it has done us a credit to be open about these issues.

The other thing that we do, is laugh "a lot". We both are pretty serious people, but I believe that if there was a time meter set up, serious vs laughter would be about even.

This is also my personal outlook on religion. I'll let Bonny speak for herself, but I have studied religion from both a historic point of view, and from the inside. "Thank God" we are past the days of dogmatism. If we think back to the "70's, 80's, and 90's" we can all remember that so many churches and mainstream religious individuals set dates for for the returning of the coming of the lord. This was a perfect example of man putting God in a box. It was also a great time for us as people to look more closely at what is reality. One thing we can bank on is God has a plan, and we don't. There is a big difference between God having a plan, and we as people making a plan. For this reason I don't get up tight about what people believe. I'm much more interested in what God "Knows".

Just think if we could be enlightened enough to understand, and live the fruits of the spirit alone in our life times here on Earth we would be amazing creatures. When I think of the fact that this is just the tip of the iceberg with God I'm humbled, and in awe. When I think about the new commandment, I get a picture in my mind of this group of people sitting around when the commandment was handed out. OK, picture in your mind for a minute an announcement being made. "OK, everyone there's about to be a new commandment." Then imagine the thoughts. "Oh I wonder what it is" And another person saying "it's going to be a big one, oh no, here it comes". Then it hits!!!! God knew exactly what to say to us at exactly the right time in history.

"Love your neighbor, as much as you love yourself"

At this point you can almost picture the room grow completely quiet. "Love" Oh no not that! God knows that every religion will basically end up with "the love of something". This is what makes God so "Majestic". Even the un-believer has to love something.

When my body finally gives up I hope that I get to ask all the questions I have. Watch, God will probably fool me and give me alls the answers at once, or make me not even care. Just in case though, I would like to be in the 7th row the third seat over in the class. Close enough to see God, but far enough away so that I'm not the first one that has to tell everything that I completely mis-understood. LOL somehow regardless of where I sit, I think he has my number.

I do enjoy all the different dynamics of religion, but for me I had better stay focused on Love, joy, peace, and the rest of them.

"love your neighbor as much as you love yourself" WOW!!!
