Sincere profiles need pictures.
If I can't see your eyes, how can I see your soul?

Are you with anyone yet?....no ? If not possibly it is because you exclude a whole set of people from the potential dating pool, if your fishing in a dead lake doesn't matter how often you change your bait, sometimes you just have to try a new lake, no further argument needed

(I'm not sure if you are asking me or kic the above question.)

I did a search yesterday for mingle men within 150 an 200 miles from where I live and 75% of the ones listed had no picture in their profile and no dialogue either. Most of them had not been on mingle for over a month. All of them live at least 50 miles away from me and someone would have to travel a bit to meet in person.

I get the impression that those men are not very serious or even trying to get a date. I think they are just browsing.

Just finding a date, (or being with someone) is not my intention. And why would I message someone who has no picture and no profile? How desperate would that look to them?

I have met someone I like a lot and a few people I would like to meet in person but they are miles and miles away... a long way to meet for coffee.

So getting a date may never happen unless I take a chance on a blind meeting with an unknown person 150 miles away.

Ok, if it was to me, Ive dated a number of people from online. NONE left their profile completely blank. Im not with anyone CURRENTLY.

Im just not attracted to people who have nothing to say. Im fine with being on my own. I was fine on my own between each person I dated too. If eliminating people I'm not attracted to from the pool is your problem with me, then that's your problem. Its sure not mine. Didnt you say you werent gonna date folks you werent attracted to by their pic? Whats your point again?

I don't have any problem with you whatsoever, I was stating what my opinion was, you can take it or leave it, doesn't really matter to me. I'm with someone at the moment, but i'm here because I enjoy these forums, I like conversations/debates. It is not a win/lose thing for me either. I think in debates and conversations in general you learn about people. However, I still don't think you can learn as much about someone from an open public conversations as you could in a private conversation. Granted there does have to be at least something in on a profile page that initially attracts you, whether it is a picture, or just an interest they listed at the bottom, or if the what is most attractive to you is their ability to 'sell themselves' in a profile that is for you to decide. I personally just don't trust salesman(or saleswoman) so I naturally don't trust what's in their profile, it doesn't interest me. Again, as I've stated these are my opinions. To answer you question on if I would date someone without a pic of themselves in their profile no I wouldn't. Because theirs only a few reasons that someone would do that, and to me all of them are deal breakers thinks their unattractive(low self-esteem i'm not interested...i move on). Wants me to ask for one(attention seeker, likes making men do petty things for them....deal breaker..I move on). Is already married or attached and doesn't want to be found out(sneaky, deceptive...deal breaker I move on)...Is not currently looking for a significant other, is only here for friends(why would I waste my time trying to convince them otherwise?...deal breaker..I move on). However, if someone is fine with who they are, and is actively seeking to find a significant other they will probably have a real picture up...why waste time on the others? my time is valuable, I don't do games. That's why I wouldn't even bother looking twice at a profile without a picture. But that's my opinion.
