This poem came to my mind after listening, talking, and observing different friends who have become couples on here proving that a successful online relationship can be possible

Steps
Before we can take our first steps
We crawl along at a slow pace
We chat and chat
Exploring each others minds
Each others thoughts,
Learning about each other

Then on to the next step
We explore our thoughts on the future
As we contemplate the next step
Shall we meet?
Will we be as compatible in person?
Again learning about each other.

The questions we ask each other
The secret thoughts of being scared
That we try to hide
Will this work
Is this meant to be?
We decide to take the next step

We meet
We learn
We explore
We have the physical contact
We talk, and share silence together
We learn more about each other

We continue the steps
Learning about each other
As we go back to reality
Sharing and growing
Either as friends
Or as mates for life
