Wake up people, the Internet is there for you, do your own research on any of these government labelled "conspiracy theories" try stopping watching tv for a while. There is a reason Bradley manning is going to be in jail all his life for telling the truth, or Julian assange being in a foreign embassy in fear of his life for telling the truth....jeeze! WAKE THE F*** UP!!!!!!! yea, your right... the reason he's going to prison is for telling government secrets when he swore an oath not to...during war, no less there is a chain of command the military uses that he could have tried, but didn't... There were other people who, in the past observed their oaths to protect their "homeland" and followed the "legal" orders of their commanders. Some of them were hanged for atrocities & war crimes at Nuremberg because they were "only following orders.". no, your completely wrong... only like 11 top generals/high commanders were executed...i posted that article from wiki for you about a month ago... but feel free to look it up... you don't get persecuted in the military by following orders... the only persecution is by the non-military idiots that cannot understand what its like in the military... the soldiers getting spit on by the loony liberals coming back from Vietnam... they were just following orders and they were persecuted not the military, but by the citizens... I guess you are not a Viet Nam vet. They were all called "baby killers" when they got back to the states... no matter what they did over there. yea, i guess when they were ordered to level a village, and it had babies in it, the looney left would see it that way... I have no idea who you are referring to when you name call a group "the loony left." BUT ask any returning Viet Nam Vet how they were treated and he will tell you.... people did not appreciate them and called them "baby killers." Nothing has changed except a more controlled media. They are still killing babies... you just don't hear about it as much because of people swearing an oath to keep their mouths shut. Keeping the dark classified secrets....... of war.... so that the dirty business of war can continue and the manipulators of these wars can continue to profit from them, as always. War is about money, that is what it is about. Its not about freedom it is about wealth and power. Meanwhile they are taking away our freedom anyway. Spying on us, taking our rights away etc. Its bull s*h*i*t! so you think war should be dignified? what war did not kill babies? it's the soldiers fault? your just as ignorant as the people doing the spitting... War is supposed to be between two armies, not purposeful slaughtering or torturing civilians.... those are called 'war crimes." They do happen all the time. Nevertheless, they are war crimes. The armies are supposed to wear uniforms so they can be identified. That is the reason the Iraqi military all took off their uniforms and abandoned their weapons and disappeared into the civilian population. They saw they were outnumbered and they knew it would be a slaughter to go up against the American Military. Therefore, there was no 'war' in Iraq. It was simply an invasion. The "military" became "the resistance" to the invasion, they abandoned their uniforms and weapons. The term "resistance" was renamed "insurgents" because "resistance" made them sound too much like heroes defending the invasion.... (which they were.) Shock and Awe campaign bombed civilians and hospitals. They killed babies, women, children.... This is not war, this was an invasion. i'm failing to understand your point here... your against war? fine, that still doesn't make it any less than what is... war.. just the name alone implys bad things are going to happen the point of a war is to win it, nothing else.. by any means necessary... all this crap about killing babies is pointless, because a war is a war.. |

Given all the details be they lurid or banal of what to most sane and moral people would term "war crimes" be it in an environment of a declared war or of acts committed in a non declared war, no oath to any government to date actually specify just what those oaths of allegiance entail. No oath has any such thing as "truth in advertising"; from all my direct experiences in military services, all oaths are based on hiding the stark reality of just what is demanded and expected of the oath taker. I have always thought that all oaths to govt. and the military should be specific, in other words spell it all out, literally, in clear understandable language that cannot be "interpreted to mean..." or "was meant to be..." Lets openly admit and say it straight out so that even the most primitive trailer park neanderthal with less than a 4th grade education totally understands just what they are saying in taking an oath to and for their country. Some countries hide the awful truth by glamourizing what those oaths mean to the general public; they rely on the purely primitive instincts of the general population of most countries while the so called intelligent and educated ones merely snicker while they recite their oath because of formal protocols to repeat them like parrots, all the time knowing that they really mean shyte. One takes an oath of allegiance and one leaves whatever morality they think that they may have, in the garbage can, spiritually labeled "Dump your morals in here if you are a true patriot" I would love to see all oaths of allegiance specify that the takers will commit what are in most normal minds be murder, torture, kidnapping of men, women and children of any and all those whom the government declare as enemies or hostile to your government's point of view. (Keep a notepad, as the list will get only longer!) These hostiles and/or enemies will be... anyone, at any time; the guy down the street from where you live, your next door neighbor, some kid in a local high school, some family if Kabul or Rio; makes no difference...go get them and don't forget, always lie to everyone about any and everything; just focus and "do your duty as a true patriot!" Everything is secret and classified. Your govt., your country is your GOD; nothing else, no one else matters. Soon, everyone will become hostile and an enemy, , perhaps your children, parents and/ or spouse. You will report them and in the interest of "National Security" they will be dealt with by those who have sworn to uphold the security of your great and fearless leaders and your sacred country, so help you God...ever wonder just who that 'God' might be? No actual name is ever uttered in any public venue overseen by government people; certainly not Christ; that name is anathema to any govt. that styles itself "of the people, by the people and for the people" The truth will not set one free but only send you to prison or death if contaminated by morality or conscious. True patriots follow blindly and are immune to morality and will never have a conscious. Let us all stand and swear our allegiance...and call a spade a spade and not label it as 'a security matter that must be kept classified'. Shyte on all flags of all governments and their oaths. It is time for people to realize and exercise their freedom and sovereignty. Did you hear about he Judge that made a woman change her child's name because she felt that "Messiah" was reserved only for Jesus Christ? Seriously? Now we can't name our children what we want? Did your hear they are putting black boxes in automobiles now? And there will be a requirement to have one in your car. When Timothy P. Murray crashed his Ford in 2011, he was fortunate. The lieutenant governor of Massachusetts was not seriously hurt, and he told police he was not speeding. But a different story soon emerged. Murray was driving more than 100 miles an hour and was not wearing a seat belt, according to the computer in his car. The case put Murray at the center of a debate over a piece of equipment: the event data recorder, or black box. About 96 percent of vehicles sold in the United States have the boxes; if the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has its way, all will. The data identify safety problems and are used as evidence in accidents and crimes. But the trove of data has raised privacy concerns. |

I said it was a SUGGESTION... Writers edit and use spacing & punctuation.., or they have an editor do it for them.. Most people won't read something, if it is a lot of work to do it.. (especially when the subject is controversial..) ,,,and ... today's generation is even lazier about doing things that take more effort & work... At your age.., you should know this better than I do, Conrad.. |

Then you will fit right in to the new world order. You will forfeit your freedom when your masters decide to be corrupt and put you into slavery. So unless you can assure everyone that a government never becomes corrupt or turns into a dictatorship, I will still be against black boxes, and tracking devices and government monitoring of our emails and phone calls. For me, freedom is paramount. When a government or system has that kind of power, you will have lost your freedom and ability to protest when they start committing war crimes and arresting whom ever they choose, just like Hitler did. You would give this kind of power to Hilter if you were a Jew I suppose. You are so naive. |

But the trove of data has raised privacy concerns. with cell phones tracking, on-star, that always knows where your at anytime, and other devices implanted into cars now, you really think black boxes are something to worry about? i like the idea, people won't be able to lie their way out of it now... You are so naive. lol... better than overly paranoid... |

You can't change the past.., but you can change the present and the future..
Since the dawn of time.., there has always been "control" in societies.. I mentioned this much earlier.., but PLATO: THE REPUBLIC is a model used (and of course. modified) in many, many societies.. I'm not saying that I agree with everything that goes on.., because I sure don't.., BUT... I also understand why certain things aren't passed out to the general public.., because not everyone can mentally & emotionally absorb all the knowledge out there.. and you would have mass hysteria all the time, from those who don't.. The problem comes.., from when people in power disrespect/ take for granted... and "abuse" the power they have... I think both sides of the argument/debate here would agree..? So... There are BOTH good things and bad things.., that arise out of advancing technology and communication.., It makes it easier for spying and what not, that goes against privacy..., but it also allows more immediate access to the general public for "some" of the underhanded stuff going on.., like Moe has stated.. I think both of you (Jeannie & Moe) appear to be intelligent people.., so I don't see why all the insults back and forth going on help either of you, with your stances in the discussion..? It reminds me of a sports forum, where posters are arguing over what player was better..and who should have been traded.., etc.. Everyone has their own opinion... THere are good points on both sides of your debates, if you look at it without all the insult slinging.. |

Posts in a community thread just helps to relieve some stress and anxiety, I think.. Other times.., reading posts in community threads can "contribute" more stress and anxiety.. Always two sides, to any situation.., isn't there..? |

And I'm not 'overly paranoid." I am not worried about people watching me personally. I am concerned with the big brother system they are constructing for future generations.
Did you know you can go to jail for cutting and pasting a link to information that is already 'out there' published on the Internet? ******************************************************************* The future of information sharing is in danger. In a case that has set a dangerous precedent for journalists and average internet users alike, Barrett Brown is facing 105 years in prison for his activity as an investigative journalist. The journalist and satirist has already spent almost a year in jail on charges connected to his reporting on the intelligence firm, Stratfor. The firm had been hacked revealing information regarding the surveillance of Bhopal activists at the behest of Dow Chemical, of PETA on behalf of Coca-Cola, and of Occupy Wall Street under contract to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Brown copy-and-pasted a link that included the hacked information, from one chatroom to another to share the data he was researching with his peers. Though he was not involved with the hacking, and has never been accused of such, this act of sharing a link to already publicly available information led to charges including credit card fraud and identity theft. Brown was also charged with obstruction of justice in his attempt to protect his sources when served a warrant for his computers. His imprisonment has raised concern among journalists, as well as civil liberties and internet activists, some of whom have created a Free Barrett Brown campaign which is collecting funds to help cover his legal expenses. The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) published an article explaining the threat that the prosecution of Barrett Brown poses, by “criminalizing routine journalism practices” and our ability to freely share information through links or other means. ********************************** This is what I'm talking about. Our freedom of the press is in the toilet when they begin jailing investigative journalists. |

MM:
of course there is an abuse of power, but that doesn't mean i'm going to dwell on it.. everyone wants to gripe, but nobody is doing anything about it... No you don't need to 'dwell' on it but you might be a little more aware of it and how this kind of thing is eroding our privacy and our freedoms. Instead, you go along with it, agree with it, and contribute to it, and even defend it. You must have a lot of faith in your masters. |
