The ebb, the flow
skin to skin
sea to shore
wind in warm hues
a breath of life
eddying, kissing the curves of shells
our ears, engulfed
the hearts current, pounding
The primitive drumbeat
sweat, pulling me into undertow
down, swallowing sweet salts
In tides timeless moments
into these waves
we cast ourselves heedless
submerged, we who abandon ships
to find safety in the storm
Arisen
from an ocean
spilling from embrace
left breathless, yet more alive
than any other time
