Ok, so... Let's say you're in a store and a guy comes up to you. You have both already made eye contact and there is a general attraction there.

Would it be offensive to come up and say something like, "You know, I've never seen anyone with hair quite like yours.. It reminds me of a Maltese"

I would assume she would either respond with:
1.) laugh
2.) what's a maltese?
3.) you're creepy/you're weird/etc...
4.) nothing

All 4 responses could be formed into a conversation (possibly not number 4)

But the question is more of a poll: what would you say? how would you respond to something like that?

i'd probably laugh and ask him if he's been smoking crack.

Yea... exactly! maybe I'm an ass but I figure if you're going for someone of model/supermodel quality then you have to knock them down SEVERAL pegs.. basically calling them a dog subconciously.. maybe I'm just an asshole and have been learning all the wrong things. I just got out of a 5 year relationship and I'm trying to recover, that's my excuse. :( hah
