Marriage is a public mutual contract between a Man and a Woman for the purpose of securing benefits in the event of one of the party involved passing. To both the widowed and children begotten from the arrangement.

(Regardless of a Monogynist or Polygynist custom)

This is why God Almighty has condoned Monogyny and Polygyny, but has never condoned Polyandry, Homosexuality and Lesbian contracts of marriage.

(It stands to reason... Nobody should have to be obliged to secure benefits to someone with whom they have no mutual interest in actually having a family.)

Did He (God) tell me this in person...? You ask?

Of course not! But all scripture would imply this.

So nobody should get married if they're not going to have kids? If one or both of them are infertile, or past the age of childbearing, or whatever?

Give me a break.

Also, marriage in the USA is a matter of civil law rather than religious tradition.

Marriage still does serve as a safety even if the couple may seemingly past child bearing years or has been deemed infertile.

Even the best efforts of some couples to use birth-control may still mean they may get in a family-way.

Even the childless widow has rights of inheritance and for example in Islam that measure is two-fold to that of a wife who was able to beget a child.

Many governments may deem marriage a matter of civil law, but because it's viewed as a religious tradition it seems to trans-send boarders.

Marriage existed before there was a U.S.A.
