I looked at a slide show of
Ghost towns Nature taking over what was once Inhabitable I look at my debt and think how Similar to the ghost towns Falling behind before getting ahead The illusion of foliage Foliage that later leave Branches bare Debt will eventually fall like Leaves It is the memory of my past Over run by what is now Taken over by the tides of An other's wants They are hidden away Parts of me I have decided to co-mingle my Past with my present As is paying down debt I take a relic of my past I handle it, it is very real It has a texture, a feeling I introduce my past with my present I hope they get along They seem to They seem to go together Sometimes it hurts To remember why Things are empty or The beast in the picture is no longer here The beast whose collar or bridal Hangs from a hook Rather than harnessing The energy of a companion These things do not belong in boxes Or Hidden from view as if a mistake But deserve honor for serving Serving me well These tokens hang surrounded By flowers By my desk By me and my thoughts Repaying a debt in writing |
