My daughter is 21 months and will not eat anything unless she can use her fingers. She won't let me feed her but she can hardly herself without making a big mess. Any suggestions?

A large quantity of Lysol wipes and a lot of patience. All my kids went through this phase. I found early on that this is a great learning experience for them. I eat my meals with my kids so I worked with them on manners and using a fork, spoon and even a knife at a very early age. My daughter and oldest son are pretty well trained. My youngest is 4 and still eats like a Viking but he gets a little better every day.

Just remember, they will learn from what they see. If you sit and eat with them and make a good example of how to eat correctly they will eventually learn to do it themselves, minus the smurf guts all over the place.

And yes Kay...I hope I helped a little. I'd be happy to share any parenting experiences I've had over the past 16 years. Just wait til your kid comes to you and tells you he/she is having sex. That was an AWESOME day.
