Topic: Cure for Leg Cramps | |
---|---|
"Pickles and/or pickle juice/brine seem to help many people who suffer
from leg cramps. I have taken some at bedtime, but of course can't be sure that is why I had no problem on any particular night. Mustard is also recommended for leg muscle cramps. Both presumably for the acetic acid, I was told. Since quinine sulfate has been found to have severe side effects in some people and is no longer easily obtained, I have found that drinking tonic water with quinine does away with the leg cramps within five or ten minutes; a life saver when awakened in pain. It doesn't take much. My bottle in the fridge has no fizz left, and I sometimes add a little grape juice to cover the quinine taste, but it still works". - From my Jewish Foods Email Group |

For leg crams at night, sleep with a bar of Ivory soap. No kidding. No other kind of soap will work. Only Ivory.
Ivory soap is the soap that floats in water. |

The fastest way to get rid of leg cramps is to stand up. I have practice doing this so I know it works.

ranging from simple muscle pains to DVT and bone disorders.need an expert opinion so that the causative factor is found and as a medical rule cause directed treatment is necessery however pain if not eliminated can be lessened by supportive measures eg wash with warm water or applying the within range dry heat still the supportive measures too can best be told after knowing the nature and correct diagnossis
so consultation with a doctor is required. |

If you have leg cramps of the "restless legs" type at night, try drinking a bit of tonic water before bedtime. The quinine in it eases restless leg syndrome (RLS) and in fact used to be sold in tablet form for exactly that purpose until the FDA pulled it because some few people had managed to overdose and get a toxic reaction. (It's possible to overdose on water, for frell's sake, so should that be unavailable too???)
I've used tonic water to relieve leg cramps/RLS, and can attest that it really does work! |

the pickles and tonic may be because of the sodium (salt)
I prefer thus: pull back your foot so that it is perpendicular (flexed) to your ankle , with your thumb and forefinger grasp either side of your achilles tendon massage gently and pinch if there is a spasm. and pull back on your toes with the other hand also massage your arch on the bottom of your foot by pressing the flat of your thumb into your arch and push hard as soon as the pains lessens to bearable massage your calf vigourously . only let your foot straighten very slowly dont release it back until all crampling is gone. this is if your calves cramp with a charlie horse (thigh cramp) vigourous massage when massaging either the calf or the thigh use an oil that's a menthol or a topiclal muscle rub cream like icy hot hope that helps. to prevent them altogether - yoga, and / or a whirlpool, regularly massaging with a lavendar or menthol oil is a good prevention too it's not meant to be an expert opinion, but I find it works |

I've also heard that eating bananas helps. I don't suffer from leg cramps so I have no proof of it buy my mom swears by it. The potassium maybe?

Or you could just cut your legs off and never have that problem again.
Side Effects: You're going to want something to stop all the bleeding though and zombies might be able to eat you easier so that's another downside. |
