I've never bought into the whole "man-made global warming thing".
And still don't.
The planet naturally has periods where it warms up and cools down.
Take a look at history.

I agree with the helping people part though.

shouldn't be fooling with mother nature....

best wishes to those in need. I was not really aware of this issue sanjeev so thanks for the neads up

as a species we usually bring the flooding upon ourselves tho by treating the floodpains and streams improperly

nonetheless no wishes to see innocents harmedflowerforyou

My prayers are with you. What's with all these floods recently? It's almost as if there's TOO MUCH water around. I hope your government can sort out a new home for you in the meantime. flowerforyou. You'd think we'd get flooded where I am, what with all the rain we get, but that doesn't mean it won't happen to me in the future. Praying with you.

Higher ground.

It ain't just a song.

It is where people need to walk to when it is flooding.

I pray that they walk to higher ground.

People have started building,,where traditionally no one would build because of Flooding etc.
Just because we Humans build in those places, doesn't mean Nature will take cognizance of it!
Dikes and Levees will only last so many years, then they will break, example, the faulty built Levees in New Orleans!(Bulkheads not deep enough)

Very best to all the people around the world that are having a crisis at this time.
And the Edmontonions will reach out to the Cargaryians as we're not battling for the Stanley Cup right now.
The battle of Alberta will quit to fight another day! Peace
That ground is not very conducive as the top of the province is so plugged with oil and all the provinces water would be sitting on the bottom what does a barrel go for anyways.
Ok peace and again my very best.
Keep your stick on the ice

Go Vancouver Canucks

It has been chaotic here with the floods. One of our towns here in Alberta is wiped out and I fear another one in Manitoba will suffer the same. We are fortunate that the loss of life is under 10 but loss of homes and property are in the millions.

I am working with the Red Cross but just helping with emergency supplies; so no management duties. It was the Bow that overflowed; and combined with 100 mills of rain, and sewage back up. The downtown core is cleared enough to drive but we have some sink holes just South of the downtown core. We had a nasty derailment of a train as the bridge collapsed but luckily they were able to remove the cars with very dangerous petroleum which would have blown up half of the foothills Industrial area.

Me too :) The government can't clear mess up alone, so if it wasn't for emergency services, we'd be in a right pickle. Keep on keeping on drinker

Sounds terrifying. You did good.
