Awwww. Hope preparations are going well. Glad you are safe and sound :-) Actually we had 7500 people evacuated from downtown and only 1500 went to shelters. We have all offered our homes to help shelter people so this seems to work well. We also have our troops as well as the fire department; 911 operators, and city workers all helping each other. There were a couple of reports of looting in one area but overall everyone is calm and helping each other out. |

I really hope the water levels slow down. I'm glad you are on dry ground. I used to live in Calgary, and know ther are lots of low spots! Here in Edmonton, things are currently fine. My hats off to all the service men and women   who render aid in such emergencies. I read that there are major roads out/closed, too. Stay close to home and be safe!

Yes Conrad; it is bad. It has never flooded like this before so its quite the shock to the city. These pics are just the downtown core. We also have had other areas of the city hit hard as well as some outlying areas.
