Body, Mind and Spirit

What does that mean to scientists, or are they all just about "Body."

What is "Mind?"

What is "Spirit?"

Mind is a function of body that is brain. Spirit is an imagination of mind. What do you think?

I think you are wrong.

A brain is only grey matter. It is not a "mind." Keep it alive in a jar and see if it can think or be conscious in any way.

When I first read your OP, my "mind" went right to Greek Philosophy...BUT!!..Since it's you asking the question(s) I skipped that in favor of the meaning of the modern day cliché “body-mind-spirit”...laugh

The body part of this triangle needs no explanation, we all know what that involves so I will just leave it at the function of the human body is nothing short of a miracle...The mind is an entirely different matter though isn't it JBbigsmile ...Who would even dare take on the task of explaining it?...Very little is known about how the brain produces consciousness...What science does know is the conscious mind functions in ranges from low (computational) to high (spiritual), so I would define the two, mind and spirit, as interrelated and interconnected with functioning skills or abilities that are separate and apart....My thinking is that the degree to which these two interrelated and interconnected aspects of the mind are exploited and explored by an individual determines their range with low being ordinary, normal being that area most of us fall into, and high being the area of function that includes things like being able to remember specifics about past lives, having paranormal or ESP ability, being telepathic or clairvoyant, and having pre and retro cognition skills or ability....What I really want to know is how you would define the two Jeannie!

SPIRIT:

Spirit is invisible potential. It is the source of thought quanta. It is "thinking stuff."

From spirit comes thought quanta and feeling.

Thought quanta are a lot smaller than what physicists call the Planck units. A Planck unit is the very smallest physical bit of mass/energy that exists in our universe.

To get an idea of how small these things are, Planck units are almost indistinguishable from nothing. They are entirely beyond the instruments of science, no matter how far we advance technologically. Basically they are theoretical unit of measurement.

"Spirit" is a consciousness that can perceive these little quanta and use them to create and manifest the "stuff" of this reality.

*********************************************

MIND:

Mind is like the cosmic computer or brain of Spirit, it creates order, and works in connection with spirit and matter. It is manifested by spirit.

*********************************************

BODY:

Body is matter. It is manifested by spirit and mind.

So many people acknowledge the idea of Body, Mind and Spirit as a natural balance in mental and physical health, that is why I asked the question.

The terms exist for a reason. Some materialists deny that Mind and spirit even exist, just because they can't see or measure or identify it. They revert back to the grey matter they call "a brain" as the miraculous source of consciousness, creativity and thought.

To say body-mind-spirit is nothing more than a natural balance in mental and physical health says absolutely nothing...To deny something exists because you can't measure or identify it is like saying you can only use one of your senses at a time...

Yep.
People normally talk about body, mind and spirit who don't really know what they are talking about.

They mistakenly think, body... eat right and exercise.
Mind.... read a book.
Spirit... go to church.

That is not it at all.ohwell laugh

I'm curious JB, is your knowledge of body-mind-spirit/soul the result of a curious mind or a desire to learn more about the spirit world eg tarrot readings?....
