Topic: Favorite comicbook films! | |
---|---|
Currently Im diggin' Man Of Steel, and last year there was no higher praise from me than that of Marvel's The Avengers, and a LOT of comicbook-based movies I've seen before that.
So I ask: which are yours? Note: NO LOKI FANGIRLS! Note #2: After careful consideration (i.e. death threats from "loki's fangirl army), Loki fangirls are now welcome! Have fun, fellow geeks! J. |

They ruined Superman's costume in Man of Steel which is exactly why I refuse to see it!
My favorite comic book movies are the Spider-Man movies 1-3, The Amazing Spider-Man, Iron Man 1-3. I'm more into Marvel than DC. My favorite Marvel Super Heroes are Spider-Man and Iron Man. My favorite DC Super Heroes are Superman and Batman. Favorite Marvel Super Villains are Venom and Green Goblin. Favorite DC Super Villains are Joker and Cat Woman. |

Um, yeah, because everything else about Superman is realistic. I know! That's like taking away Spider-Man's powers like Spidey Sense for being unrealistic! He'd just be Man! No one is going to see a movie called Man! Screw you whoever was in charge of Man of Steel! If I ever see you I might kick you in the face with your realism! |

I think overall, Im one of those fans whose able to overlook a LOT of things, and taking even more with a grain of salt.
I could use the explanation the filmmakers cited as to why they changed his costume and why they didn't use kryptonite and a whole unch of other stuff, but im really gonna say that everyone is entitled to their opinion so its not like my opinion is gonna change anyone's mind, but Im the curious sort, so I researched the why, got my answers, and said "well, as long as I can enjoy myself without nitpicking too much, I'm sure I'll like the film." And I did. I gotta say though, that I think rushing a JLA movie is still a bad idea. DC should open with a Bats/Supes team-up film LEADING into a JLA film. I'm more of a Marvel guy myself, but I dig DC too, obviously. |

Scott Pilgrim all the way! I think they should do a re-release in another few years for the 5yr anniversary and watch the crowds come in droves! I would! |

I will admit that I know a little about Superman. I am guessing this is why I liked Man Of Steel and have not been upset with the costume, or the non use of kryptonite or the fact that (SPOLIER ALERT) does kill Zod at the end. Just wanted to throw my comments in on MOS before I got to my favorite comic book films.
X2: Bryan Singer had the pulse of X-Men and I truly believe that had he decided to do X3 (instead of Superman Returns) then we would have had the first great trilogy of comic book films. This movie is solid on all levels but it mostly works because of Jackman and Cox. Spider-Man 2: The first film was good. The third film is an atrocity. But this one is Sam Raimi's best work (Shut up Torgo. I know you love Evil Dead. ). Alfred Molina as Doc Oc is pure genius casting and the battles Oc and Spidey have are some of the best hero vs. villain battles in movie history. Marvel's The Avengers: The moment Joss Whedon was named writer and director of the film I immediately believed it could be a huge hit. Boy did it ever exceed my expectations. I can't imagine how hard it was to cram all those superhero's into one movie. But Whedon accomplished this and then some. Hell...Tom Huddelston as Loki pretty much stole every scene he was in. I can't wait to see how Whedon handles parts 2 and 3. The Crow: I am going to always wonder if Brandon Lee would have become a big time action star. He was simply brilliant in this movie but Michael Wincott as Top Dollar has the best lines (even with the limited time he is on screen). The Dark Knight: Simply put...no other comic book films can compare to this. Nolan not only made the best comic book film but he made the best comic book trilogy of all time. Ledger's performance as Joker is mesmerizing and Eckhart as Harvey Dent gets majorly overlooked. The highway scene with the big rig is masterfully done and the ending is truly brilliant. |

Haha. Have to agree with the Bale comment. Felt the same way when I saw the trailer.

I don't hate Bale, I just didn't like how it felt like he was doing Dirty Harry impressions.

Guess I'm sometimes easy to please, but usually its not hard to spot a really terrible film at times.
