As a loyal fan of Star Trek, The Original Series, I do not normally enjoy any attempt to duplicate TOS. However, I just finished watching the first episode of the online show Star Trek Continues, and I have very pleased with what I watched.

Star Trek Coninues is a continuation of TOS using different cast members playing the same TOS characters.

At first, I didn't think that anyone could do a good job of portraying Kirk and Company just like they were portrayed in TOS, but I was wrong.

This new cast is more like TOS Kirk and Company than the cast of the J.J. Abrams modern-day Star Trek. One reason for the successful casting is the fact that the role of Mr. Scott is played by Chris Doohan, the son of the late Jimmy Doohan, the original Mr. Scott. The younger Doohan has the same facial expressions that his father had.

Vic Mignogna portrays Kirk in such a way that you'd might mistake Mignogna as having been taught his role by Bill Shatner himself.

The part of Lt. Uhura is played by Kim Stinger. Although she looks nothing like Nichelle Nichols, Stinger is a singer just like Nichols, and Stinger's singing is featured in the first episode.

Fans of Discovery Channel's hit show Mythbusters will be pleased to see mythbuster Grant Imahara portraying Lt. Sulu. He actually adds more comedy to the role.

The sets, music and effects used in this online show appear to duplicate those used in TOS, and the first episode has the look, sound and feel of TOS's episodes.

Anyway, that is my take on this latest rendition of Star Trek.

Has anyone else at Mingle2 seen it?

Possibly as you're in kahoots with the Mountain Dew stealing aliens!

I've never really been able to get into Star Trek or Star Wars for that matter.
Personally. They've always bored me.
Except for that one time when I was like 10 or 11 when I saw the first Star Wars remake somewhere around the year 2000 in theaters.
I still don't understand what people see in those two series.
Well. Have a nice day. waving

I had no idea about Star Trek continues.

I have the three seasons with cgi spfx also the Animation series. Also all the Star Trek fan collective releases.

I would certainly be interested in a new series situated in TOS.
