Don't talk to him anymore. A real guy will not ask for anything other than to meet you for a date.

They stole these guys photos off of a website, we think
One of the real soliders died in iraq, I was stupid and believed solly bearb sent a care
Package worth $300 to him, because he made me feel bad for him, its a nigerian scam.
Watch for spelling, they like to use coz or cos, will
Tell you his wife died in a car accident, and he has little
Boy, this guy is very charming, but DO NOT BELIEVE HIM

There's a few things to look for in "scammers".

One is poor English skills.

Another is very quickly trying to get you to talk to them off site.

Long "poor me" type sob stories usually involving money woes is another.

And of course asking for money or banking information is probably the biggest one of all.

I agree. I've run across quite a few...some with photos, some not. Poor English skills is usually the 1st thing that tips me off. Another is giving me a cell # or email address in the 1st message. One other thing I've noticed is that one "scammer" will often have 3 or 4 different screen names. You can tell it's the same person because their message wording is almost exactly alike. Oh, and they usually work out of the country and have kids...supposedly. Just be careful and report if you need to.

Hello all, I'm very new in the dating world, and I joined this site about a week ago. I met 3 people online already and their story is almost exactly the same, the only difference one out of the 3 has 3 kids instead of one. 2 are from the US and one from Canada. Could this be fake,? But they send me their pic and the kids. I'm so confuse and really lost. Any advise ?

lol...i got that too but not till the second week. I found this very comical. I said hell no i never met you. They will also ask for money to get home because their employer left them stranded. That wouldn't happen, I know way too many people who work out of town/country.

They will come back on with new account but use the same photos

if they are gone from this site, then the site probably banned them.

Just use common sense. Don't go off site with anyone right away. We don't have jurisdiction off site.

Never give money, no matter how sad the story is.

Poor English isn't always an indicator. This site is international, so English isn't a first language for all.

There will always be scammers online and in real life. Just report them and block them. This site works very hard to get rid of them.

Between 47-52

here's a few things i watch out for....

if they're older than 25 and type like a teen would text - be careful

if their last name sounds like a first name - be careful

if they refer to you as "dear" alot - be careful

if they leave words out of sentences or if they mismatch words in sentences - be careful

of course if they ask for money - be careful

if their first email matches their description of themselves in their profile - be careful

One guy decided to borrow 200. $ to feed his daughter, he's out of the country for business in Nigeria. He's a business man, he called his bank in Canada and it will take 10 days, I asked him about credit card and he said that Nigeria doesn't accept his MasterCard

Every ATM and POS in Nigeria accepts mastercard.

OP's story struck me as odd. Transferring money across thousands of miles of land and water doesn't compute for me, I suppose. I wasn't aware about how money is handled there. More or less, I was simply bewildered by the scammer's request. No offense intended Mu, but I find it laughable really.
