I'm with the no chatroom vote..Maybe I'm really slow but its like the
screen scrolls up way to fast..If I need to go somwhere I can't come
back an see whats been going on. With the forum I can always come
back..I love that!! I BELIEVE it would be a great loss to lose the
forums....~gterryo5

Being new to computer talk, I have got lost a bunch in network chats? I
like this system, but it would be cool to get in and out faster? Like
if I say a comment here, and I said another comment under another
heading in the community, getting back and forth is to long? Unless
there's a trick here that im not doing right?

Kings right, But the IM is where that could help out.

i agree with you shadow, all i meant by that is that you have an
opportunity to see how the other person interacts with other people as
well.

Maybe we can do something in between that satisfies the group chat itch
but still won't hurt the forums.

Maybe like a conference chat.. so basically it's like instant
messenging, but you can add other people (a conference)..

Whoever starts the conference would have full power to kick people out.

That might be a good compromise.

Anyway, we'll figure it out. We're launching IM first, then we can
decide on how/if to provide group chat.

Thanks for all your comments

vanchau i think your right if the group chat is added we might loose the
thread forum which in my opinion is one of the biggest aspects of this
site, and your right once it scrolls its gone but with the threads we
can continue a convo for days and weeks and no one has to worry about
being online at the same time as everyone else. So basicly i agree we
should have the messenger or one to one chat but we should stick with
the threads.

I think I would rather have IM. That way I can just turn it off if I'm
busy written sweet nothings for the forums. Plus chatrooms are confusing
as to who is typing to whom. Even in color coded text someone can get
bugeyed just trying to keep up with all that going on. Rolling eyes.

BTW what happened to deleting one's posts from a forum?
