Being justified (made right) through faith in Jesus, we can consider ourselves "to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord". (Romans 6:11) God's Spirit will "quicken"(give life to)(Romans 8:11) all who believe in Jesus, allowing us to "present (our) bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God." (Romans 12:1) It is possible, with God's help, to "be not overcome of evil, but to overcome evil with good." (Romans 12:21)
Believers do not have to be a slave to Sin. |

1 John 1:8-10 says, "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."(ESV)
In the seventh chapter of Romans, the Apostle Paul describes his personal struggle with sin. He admits that he was continuing to sin despite the desire within his spirit not to sin. In verses 24 & 25 Paul says, "Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin." |

You must always be vigilant and ask for forgiveness via prayer every day.
