Topic: New Childs Play Movie Coming In OCT | |
---|---|
This has got to be one of my favorite horror series, the first ones a classic but honestly I liked Bride and Seed so much better then the first three, and I think the mix of dark humor really made the series so much better.
I was disappointed and saddened to see that they are leaving all of that out in the upcoming movie and the fact that it is a straight to DVD release makes me think that it just doesn't seem worth it. |

At one time they were going to do a direct sequel to Seed. Really have no interest in a reboot.

Even though it was supposed to have been released in 2011, then 2012, as far as it looks it has a 2014 release date.

On the Halloween 4 DVD commentary, Danielle Harris talked about how
the actor that played the kid in the first 2 Child's Play movies had an idea for a movie involving his character and Danielle's character from the Halloween franchise joining forces to fight evil. I always thought that might have been fun if done right. |

next one will be "Childs Play-Chucky Joins Forces With North Korea" Isn't the idea of a reboot an enough of an insult for Chucky? |

I always thought that might have been fun if done right. Well, at the Beginning of Bride they show Jason and Meyers Mask showing they are in the same universe, which would kinda be cool. Honestly thought I really think the dark humor of Bride and Seed revived the series! |

My bad, there's 2 different things- the direct to DVD sequel Curse Of Chucky comes this October. It's written and directed by Don Mancini who has penned all of the Chucky movies, and Brad Dourif is still voicing Chucky. The reboot/remake is showing 2014, if it gets off the ground. |

Child's Play should have ceased films after the dreadful second installment. Then again, Bride of Chucky is noteworthy simply because Jennifer Tilly looks so damn good in it. Still, I really don't see how a doll will terrify today's audiences. Back in the 80's it was a novel idea. With Bride of Chucky they made that film more sexy-funny that you didn't mind how silly it was that a doll could terrify emo kids. Let this series die in peace.

I have the Chucky Killer DVD Collection. Both Bride and Seed of Chucky are fun. I don't think the premise of a killer doll is any more silly than some of the horror crap that Hollywood keeps flinging at the screen. |

I mean...Boogeyman is literally one of the worst horror films I have ever seen so...yeah...Hollywood does throw out a lot of crap these days. And, I actually do have a soft spot for Child's Play 3. Love the part where Chucky scares the old General and dude has a heart attack. Chucky delivers the line, "Oh! You gotta be F'n kidding me" and it is just hilarious. Still, I can't find a reason for a reboot of this franchise (if it does happen). |
