Topic: Follow God's Plan For Your Life | |
---|---|
For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in ChristJesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live] (Ephesians 2:10 AMP).
God has predestined your life for glory. He has pre-ordained your life, according to His purpose, for a specific assignment. It behoves you, as a child of God, to locate yourself in that divine plan. Not everyone necessarily becomes what God planned for them to be. The fact that you’re born again doesn’t mean you’ll accomplish all the good works God planned for you because after all, you’re a free moral agent. You have the will to make yourown decisions freely; that is, whether to follow God’s plan for your life or to choose your own way. But there’s no wisdom in choosing your own way, for the Bible says, “There is a way thatseemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 16:25). Locate yourself in God’s plan, and determine that you’re going to fulfil His destiny for your life. It’s your responsibility to ensure that you walk in the path that He’s prepared for you. In Colossians 4:17 we observe the Apostle Paul giving an important admonition to a certain man named Archippus, to take heed to the ministry, which he had received in the Lord, so that he (Archippus) may fulfil it; he didn’t say that God might fulfil it for him. Therefore, to live in God’s destiny for you and follow His plan for your life, you must have a good knowledge and understanding of God’s Word. When Jesus rebuked the Sadducees, He said, “...Ye do err, not knowing thescriptures...” (Matthew 22:29); He didn’t say, “You err because it’s natural to do so.” God’s Word is His Wisdom and Light (Proverbs 1:20, 23, Psalm 119:130). As you study and meditate on it, you’ll receive insight, direction, and be guided rightly to make choices and decisions that are in sync with God’s plan for your life. In addition, in following God’s plan for your life you must learn how to yield yourself to the Holy Spirit through constant fellowship. He’s the One whounveils mysteries and divine secrets toyou, and helps you to discover yourself in God’s dream. Confession: I’m walking according to God’s predestination for my life; I’m fulfilling His dream and bringing glory to His Name. I increase everyday in my knowledge of the Word of God, and my decisions and actions are influenced by His Wisdom. My walk with the Holy Spirit is highly fruitful, and I’m divinely helped of Him as I function in God’s plan for my life. Further Study: Colossians 2:6-7 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Jeremiah 7:23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I havecommanded you, that it may be well unto you. |
