Fetishism is becoming more and more mainstream, so i ask you this, do you think fetishes e.g latex, leather, PVC, etc etc, are a healthy 'thing' to have, or just plain wierd?
I have a fetish for all of the above, so please be honest. |

Having a fetish and or living a fetish-esque lifestyle is becoming more mainstream, because it's becoming more accepted. It's no longer something to hide in most cases.
A fetish can be a very healthy way to spice up your personal sex life, get to know others via fetish parties and many other positives. The only way it could be negative is if you let it. Telling others is always a risk, but what I'm meaning is it will be unhealthy if you're in a relationship and they're not very much into it and you want that fetish fulfilled often. With me, it's best to keep my fetish as an every-once-in-awhile type thing, it keeps it kinky and hot instead of routine. But im sure you'll get lots of people saying fetish are a mental disorder. *shrugs* |

I agree with you totally, fetishes in general are a healthy part of a sexual or non sexual relationship/lifestyle, and you are also correct on the "fetishes are a mental disorder" part too, all too often i hear it, it is now just water off a ducks back to me.
However i just wanted to discover what people here thought on the subject. Thanks for your input :-) |

Thanks for that klc, again people do have some issues in accepting other peoples quirks, buy in my opinion, if its safe, not hurting anyone, and not illegal then what's the problem?
Thanks for your input :-) |

Thanks for your input :-) Hi Jay...I don't often talk about personal experiences on the boards, but I am going to share one with you....It happened over 40 years ago...I was 21 and attending a neighborhood yard party...I was sitting in a lawn chair enjoying the music and my drink when a man I didn't know ask if he could sit down next to me...I said sure and we began chatting....Several minutes in, he complimented me on my "pretty" feet I thought that was nice and I thanked him...Then he asked me if he could hold one! ...I'm sure the surprise register on my face because he went on to explain about his foot fetish...He was so nice, so genuine, and I was two drinks in...So I thought "what the hell" and I plopped my foot in his lap and said enjoy....He was delighted and he gave me the best foot massage ever!!...We traded numbers and even though we did not date or have a repeat "foot fondling" session, we formed a great friendship that lasted for several years....As long as everyone is on the same page, I see no problem with fetishes shared and enjoyed by two (or more) consenting adults.... |

Well, I don't know if it's considered a fetish or not, but there is nothing sexier than a woman wearing nothing but a man's button down collared shirt.

RoamingOrator, if the sight of a woman in a mans button down shirt, turns you on, then i would say its a fetish of a sort :-)
Thanks for your input :-) |

Fetishes are all good and fine if the people involved are enjoying it, I wouldnt says its mainstream yet, yes people have opened up and talk about it more.
I think my last girlfriend thought i was weird when i suggested she dress up as a Nun, stockings and 6" heels. |

Dont be long to get a hard with. We all have our own little fetish. No matter how big or small. The people who judge others need to fudge off. Live your life and be yourself. If someone doesnt accept that, then they arent worth knowing. Id rather be hated for who i am and what i enjoy, than be liked for something im not.

Everybody have some form of fetish, some quite normal and others that are out of the box, but everything in good old fun it´s ok. Obviously you have to talk with your partner and if he/she accept it, then go ahead and enjoy. All is fair in love and sex, while consensual. |

All is fair in love and sex, while consensual. Until someone asks someone else to put on a Scooby Doo costume. |
