When you find yourself doing all the things you thought you would never do, just to make her/him smile. When you look at them, you feel you can do anything. When being close to them... the rest of the world just goes away. It is pretty magical when all is said and done. I like this answer best, so true and so romantic....Especially this, "the rest of the world just goes away".. I know I'm in love when I'm not chasing the relationship, it comes naturally..It just feels easy, comfortable....I know I'm in love when we fight with healthy communication rather than insults or manipulation tactics....I know I'm in love when my partner and I share the same life priorities...I know I'm in love when we share a deep and abiding respect for each other...And last, love for me means not just accepting each other the way we are, but embracing it, championing it... I like how you point out the various aspects of peoples behavior when it comes to love, Leigh... with this comparative view we're able to see that love has the power to survive even in seemingly dysfunctional relationships... I especially like your summary statement... Remember those "Love Is" characters when were young? Love is a deep concern for his well being and happiness. It is caring and giving without concern of receiving. He's my best friend, my lover, my partner all rolled into one. When his smile brightens my whole world, and I want to make him smile. Its fulfillment on an etheral plain. Not being able to bear the thought of life another day without him in my life. And I just cannot wait to kiss him again!! I think and feel that, I'm in love! I've had it, I'd like to again. I totally get that, TxRose... when both thinking and feelings revolve around the smile in his eyes as he looks at you too...

Well, let's see...the fact that I’ve never had as much fun as when I go out dancing with him could just be that he’s a really good dancer.
The fact that he makes me laugh more than I’ve ever laughed with anyone else could be that he’s really just THAT funny. 
That I enjoy talking with him so much that it’s not uncommon for us to be asked to leave so the restaurant can close at midnight, when we had dinner at 7:00, might just be that we have a great deal in common, he’s very personable, and he’s a great conversationalist.
That he makes me melt down to my toes every time he kisses me could just be a sign that he’s had entirely too much practice at it. 
So, I think that I REALLY know I’m in love and not just taken in by a handsome face, good chemistry and the fun we have together, is probably when we find ourselves sitting around one day doing nothing in particular and I realize that there’s no place else I’d rather be.
