Topic: They say we can’t cut anything but is that really true? | |

The most important place to cut "Wasteful Spending" is by cutting
Congress itself. My suggestion is that we go to a single Senator per State and limit the maximum number of members of the House of Representatives to 5 per State and require that the House could not have more than 150 delegates under any circumstances. I would still suggest that the States be represented by at least 1 House member but those states with larger numbers of reps would have to do with fewer. That would certainly simplify the negotiations, cut the various spending interests, eliminate half of the cost of our legislature and their wasteful initiatives. Also, there would be less campaigning and lobbying cost which are a significant legislative overhead cost. It has to be a good move. Let's go for some real legislative reform for a change. I don't buy the argument that a smaller Congress could not represent the citizenry well enough. |
