Nearer than before yes. I am looking for a one world religion persecuting fleeing sabbathkeepers just before the end. I am observing how rapidly that is approching.

A World council of Churches (sort of) decision encouraged by the State to have some standards like which day is the Sabbath. They will decide it must be Sunday, as majority follow right now. They will make it Government law where disobedience just like when the RC church was ruling the world, where disobedience by Saturday sabbath keeping will be sedition and a crime of the country. The RC Church will again be in charge. Revelation 13. so the military might of the State will give the RC church power a heal of their deadly wound when in 1798 the Pope was taken prisoner under Napolean Bonaparte's General Berthier

I have to agree with this. Sometimes people do tend to get carried away with the technical aspect and forget to just relax and listen.

However, there are also times when it's appropriate. For example, if someone is claming to have written a piece of music in a particular style, (say classical), and someone else tears it apart because it doesn't fit that style. That doesn't mean that they are saying that it's bad "music", all they are saying it that it doesn't satisfy the requirements of the style of music that it was supposedly written in.

That's not the same as saying that it's "bad" music. So sometimes you need to step back and think about the context in which the assessments are being made.

What I actually wanted to post in this thread is that I think it’s absurd to think that the world would end anytime soon. Especially due to some divine intervention.

As a species humanity has only just been born. It would be totally ridiculous to nip it in the bud at this point. What would be the point of that?

I view human-centric religions that see this life as a menial existence that we must merely tolerate before we can move on to some imagined perfect world as being utterly absurd.

To me that’s the thinking of spoiled brats who can’t handle anything less than perfection.

I had to learn how to crawl before I could walk. It is so humilating. I could never do anything perfect. I am so ashamed. I had to accept that I was human. I have lost hope in evolving up the food chain. I may never be more than what I am. As a perfectionist I suck. I aspired to be a god but it is all in vain. Alas, poor Yorick I knew him well.

no. i don't think that any generation alive today will see the end of the world.

I figure it's the end of the world everyday for somebody. When I die it's the end of my world,when you die it's the end of yours. But what do I know.

YES I BELEIVE THAT THE END OF THE WORLD IS COMING. I ALSO BELIEVE THAT THE WORLD WILL COLLAPSE AND THEN EXPAND AGAIN AND COLLAPSE AND EXPAND FOREVER. THINGS TOO WILL BE AS THEY ARE NOW AND U WILL BE THE SAME AS U ARE NOW AND U WILL HAVE THE SAME EXPERIENCES AS U HAVE WENT THROUGH NOW AND U WILL REPEAT THIS TO FOREVER.
